2011 DIF DM Danish Championship

Vallensbæk Sailing Club, August 20-21, 2011

Notice of Race

 
1. Organizing Authority
The Organizing Authority is Vallensbæk Sailing Club.

2. Rules
i. The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
ii. All competitors are required to wear while racing adequate personal buoyancy having a minimum of 4.5kg flotation for each competitor.

3. Advertising
Competing boats may be required to display advertising of the Event Sponsors.

4. Eligibility and Entry
i. The championship is open to all boats of the International 505 Class and Trapez dinghy class.
ii. The championship entry fee shall be paid in full in accordance with section 4.
iii. Each competitor in each boat shall satisfy the requirements of ISAF regulation 19 and be a member of the International 505 Class Yacht Racing Association or Dansk Trapezjolle Klub. This is achieved through membership of their respective national Class Associations
iv. Eligible boats may enter by completing the online entry form located at http://www.vallensbaek-sejlklub.dk
v. Each participating boat shall successfully complete the Measurement and Equipment Inspection.

5. Fees
i. Entry Fee is 600 DKK if received prior to August 1st, 2011 and 800 DKK if received after August 1st, 2011.

6. Schedule
The complete schedule is posted at event web site and will be available on-site during registration.
Program:
Friday, August 19th : Registration.
Saturday, August 20th : Skippers’ meeting 9.30 AM, , warning signal Race 1 at 10.55 AM.
Sunday, August 21th : Racing continues, 9.55 AM first warning.
No warning signal after 2 PM.
Awards will follow the end of racing


7. Registration and Measurement
i. Competitors shall register prior to Measurement and Equipment Inspection.
ii. Registration for the championship will take place at Vallensbæk Sailing Club friday August 19th from 6 PM – 8 PM. And Saturday 20th from 7.30 AM – 8.30 AM.
iii. Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate at registration.
iv. Sails (max two suits) will be measured to ensure compliance with class rules.
v. Spot checks may be made on any yacht selected at random by the race committee at any time during the event. Such spot checks may include hull weight, equipment checks, sails, or spar measurements.


8. Sailing Instructions
Sailing instructions will be posted on the event website and shall be available at registration from August 19th, 2011.

9. Venue
i. Race Headquarters will be located at the Main Clubhouse.
ii. Regatta Harbor: Vallensbæk Sailing Club, Vallensbæk Havnevej 1, 2665 Vallensbæk.
iii. Racing Area: Køge Bugt.

10. Courses
i. The courses will be defined in the Sailing Instructions.
ii. Gate starts will be used except in exceptional circumstances.

11. Scoring
i. The Low Point scoring system, Appendix A of the RRS will apply.
ii. A minimum of four races shall be completed to constitute the Danish National Championship.
iii. When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of all her race scores.
If 5 or more races have been completed, a boat’s score will be the total of her race scores less her worst score. This changes RRS A2.

12. Support Boats
i. Competitor’s support boats are permitted only by prior arrangement with the organizing authority. Support boats shall declare the sail numbers of each competitor they are supporting. Please contact the organizing authority to organize permission in advance.
ii. Support boats shall remain 200 meters outside the Race Area from the Preparatory Signal of a race to when the last boat finishes that race or when the race is postponed or when the race is abandoned.

13. Radio Communication
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

14. Prizes
i. Prizes will be awarded to every five participant Danish Nationale Championship.
ii. Perpetual awards will also be awarded in accordance with 505 class rules and traditions.

15. Liability
As a condition of the participation of any boat in any race or related activity sponsored or undertaken by the Vallensbæk Sailing Club, the owner, helmsman and crew member agree that the safety of the boat and her crew and the decision whether to start or continue to race is entirely their own risk. See RRS, Rule 4, Decision to Race. The owner, helmsman and crew member waives all claims which he or she, or any heir, representative, successor or assignee, may have against vallensbæk Sailing Club and its officers, trustees, members, committees, employees or agents and the sponsors, arising out of or in any way connected with participation in such race.

16. Insurance
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 5 mill. DKK per event or the equivalent and shall furnish proof of insurance at the time of registration.

17. Accommodation
Camping on the harbour will be possibly.
