NOTICE OF RACE

RULES |
|
1.1 |
The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing. |
|
1.2
|
The applying prescriptions of the Scandinavian Sailing Association and the Danish Sailing Association will be incorporated into the sailing instructions. |
|
1.3 |
Furthermore, the following rules will apply:
- Class rules for X-99 Class.
- The Rules for Danish Championships.
- The crew weight restriction in the Class Rules (max. 512 kilos) shall apply.
- Wind limit: No start will be made if the wind exceeds 14 meters per second. Further information and details will be given in SI.

The Rules are changed as follows:
- Rules 30.2 and 30.3 will be changed by the prescription of the Scandinavian Sailing Association. The base of the triangle in these rules includes the extensions of the starting line to the starting vessel and to a control vessel in the opposite end.
- The preamble to Part 4 will be changed, to state that the obligation to wear personal buoyancy when signal flag Y is displayed not only applies while racing.
- Rules 35 and A4 will be changed to state, that boats failing to finish within 20 minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish.
- Rule 60.1(a) will be changed to state, that a competitor can not protest another boat or competitor for breaches for some specific parts of the sailing instructions and that sanctions for such breaches might be less than disqualification.
- Rules 61.3 and 62.2 will be changed to coordinate the protest time for competitors, protest committee and race committee.
- Rule 66 will be changed to shorten the time limit for reopening protest hearings.
- Rule A4 will be changed by stating, that at boat starting later than 4 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start.
The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. |

If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. |

ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY |
|
2.1 |
The regatta is open to all X-99 boats which hold valid Measurement Certificates.. |
|
2.2 |
Participants must comply with the eligibility prescriptions in the Class Rules and in the Rules for Danish Championships, including:
- all participants must be members of a sailing club under an ISAF-MNA
- all skippers and boat owners must be members of their national X-99 class organization.

2.3 |
Eligible boats may enter by completing the registration form at http://www.vallensbaek-sejlklub.dk, and transfer the required fee no later than 13.08.08, to:

Late entries will be accepted until august 27th 2008 with an additional fee of 50% of the entry fee. |

A boat is not registered before the regatta fee is paid. |

The spare day will be used, in the case four races not are sailed before Saturday evening. |

The attention signals for the 2nd or 3rd race of a day will be made as soon as practicable. |

On the last day of the regatta no attention signal will be made after 14.00 hours. |

5 |
MEASUREMENTS |
|
|
5.1 |
Each boat shall produce a valid class certificate. In addition the following measurements will be taken:
- All sails shall be measured. A list of the sails to be used (see class rules) shall be presented at registration.
- Proof of third-party liability insurance; see paragraph 16.
- Loan Declaration, if the owner is not onboard, when the boat is racing.

All participants shall be weighed upon registration. |

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS |

|
The sailing instructions will be available upon registration. |
|
7 |
VENUES |
|
7.1 |
The venue is:

Courses will be sailed on the waters south- east of Vallensbæk |

8 |
THE COURSES |
|
8.1 |
On the Thursday, Friday and Saturday the courses will be "Windward/Leeward courses". |
|
8.2 |
The planned sailing time for the first boat is 75 minutes. A shorter or longer sailing time will not be grounds for redress. |
|
9 |
SCORING |
|
9.1 |
9 races are scheduled of which 4 races are required to constitute a Danish Championship series. |
|
9.2 |
When fewer than five races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores. |
|
|
When from five to seven races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. |
|
10 |
SAFETY |
|
|
Danish legislation requires every boat to be equipped with personal buoyancy for the number of persons on board at any time. |
|
11 |
HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS |
|
|
Boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta from 08.00 hours on the first racing day until the last boat finishes the last race, except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee. |
|
12 |
DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS |
|
|
Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around the boats from 08.00 hours on the first racing day until the last boat finishes the last race. |
|
13 |
RADIO COMMUNICATION |
|
|
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. |
|
14 |
PRIZES |
|
14.1 |
Champion will be the best Danish boat. The DS-DM championship medals will be awarded to the best three Danish boats. |
|
14.2 |
Prizes will be awarded on a ratio of one per each five boats. |
|
14.3 |
Special Class prizes will be announced upon registration |
|
14.4 |
Prize giving will take place Saturday evening at the regatta Party. Given the spare day is used, prize giving will take place as soon as possible after the last race. |

15 |
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY |
|
|
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. |
|
16 |
INSURANCE |
|
|
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of DKK 2.000.000 per event or the equivalent. |
|
