NOTICE OF RACE |
1 RULES
1.1
The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2
The applying prescriptions of the Scandinavian Sailing Association and the Danish Sailing Association will be incorporated into the sailing instructions.
1.3
Furthermore, the following rules will apply:
· Class rules for A-Cat Class.
· The Rules for Danish Championships.
· Wind limit: No start will be made if the wind exceeds 13 meter per second. Further information’s and details will be given in SI.
· If a class has less than 2 entries, there will be no races for this class.
1.4
The Rules are changed as follows:
· Rules 30.2 and 30.3 will be changed by the prescription of the Scandinavian Sailing Association. The base of the triangle in these rules includes the extensions of the starting line to the starting vessel and to a control vessel in the opposite end.
· The preamble to Part 4 will be changed, to state that the obligation to wear personal buoyancy when signal flag Y is displayed not only applies while racing.
· Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.
· Rules 35, A4 and A5 will be changed to state, that boats failing to finish within 30 minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish.
· Rule 60.1(a) will be changed to state, that a competitor can not protest for breaches for some specific parts of the sailing instructions.
· Rules 61.3 and 62.2 will be changed to fix the protest time to 90 minutes for competitors, protest committee as well as race committee.
· Rule 66 will be changed to shorten the time limit for reopening protest hearings.
· Rule A4 and A5 will be changed by stating, that a boat starting later than 4 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start.
The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions.
2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1
The regatta is open to the following classes: A-CAT.
2.2
Boats and participants shall meet the following requirements: Skipper must be members of a sailing club recognized by the Danish Sailing Association or equivalent. The skipper must furthermore be a valid member of a National A-Cat Class Association. At check in, the A-Cat participants shall present the boats' Class Certificate.
2.3
Eligible boats may enter by completing the registration form at http://www.vallensbaek-sejlklub.dk, and transfer the required fee no later than 13.08.08, to:

Foreign crews are obliged to submit the entry-form within the deadline as well, while paying the fee can take place in connection with check-in without penalty fee when paying in DKK.
2.4
Late entries will be accepted under the following conditions: additional penalty fee of 50% of the entry fee
3 FEES
3.1
Entry fee is DDK 300 pr. person.
The entry fee includes breakfast and "do-it-yourself-lunch", Saturday and Sunday
4 SCHEDULE
4.1
Registration possible in the regatta office Friday 17-21 and Saturday from 07:30
4.2
The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race Saturday and Sunday is 10:25.
A maximum of 5 races will be sailed per day
4.3
On the last day of the regatta no warning signal will be made after 14.30 hours.
5 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available at registration.
6 VENUES
6.1
The regatta venue will be Vallensbæk Sejlklub

6.2
Courses will be sailed on the waters south east of the harbour.
7 THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed are standard up-down courses. Read more in Sailing Instructions. The planned sailing time for the first boat will be 60 minutes. A shorter or longer sailing time will not be grounds for redress.
8 PENALTY SYSTEM
Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.
9 SCORING
9.1
9 races are scheduled of which 4 races are required to constitute a Danish Championship series.
9.2
(a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
10 SAFETY
Danish legislation requires every boat to be equipped with personal buoyancy for the number of persons on
board at any time.
11 RADIO COMMUNICATION
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available
to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
12 PRIZES
Prizes will be given as follows:

13 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely t their own risk. (See rule 4, Decision to Race.) The
organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in
conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
14 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance.
